2010 “Do You Want Gold” Honey Space, New York
Performance and Installation
Hive, 1hr duration
I was positioned in a vat of five gallons of honey installed in a small bronzed mirrored room lit with heat lamps which sat on a hundred and fifty pounds of salt spread over the floor. The piece was accompanied with looping sound bytes from bee hives to recreate the interior of a hive where the viewers became a hypothetical bee moving in and out of the hive. Hive, was an exploration to understand consumption with regards to questions of herd mentality.
No bees were harmed during the performance and the honey was cleaned and later consumed.
