The video displayed is an exert of an impromptu performance acting as a conversation with a collection of artist in northern California. I was asked to submit a work that correlated with the west coast landscape. I focused on the many layers of earth that is milled for human consumption and was a driving force behind the dust bowl migration in the 1930's. Oil, gold and wheat have become essential to maintain our metropolis's like Manhattan and also within our daily individual lives. I pour it over myself in homage to these earthly materials in my own daily consumption.
Strata: A layer of sedimentary rock whose composition is more or less the same throughout and that is visibly different from the rock layers above and below it. A layer of tissue, as of the skin or organ.
